Supporting Hornbill Conservation

Hand-crafted Pendantsmabula

To help conserve these birds, artisans in Africa are creating pendants to raise money and awareness.  These solid sterling silver pendants are hand-crafted in Zimbabwe using the lost wax method.  The artists that create these ground-hornbills make fair and sustainable wages. The cost of these pendants are $30 plus shipping. All proceeds from the sale of these pendants goes to the Mabula Ground Hornbill Project.

Philippine Hornbills Conservation Program T-Shirts

We have been helping one of our partner organizations, Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, with producing a T-shirt as part of their fundraising efforts for the Philippine Hornbills Conservation Program. Planned field work in 2016 includes synchronized surveys on the islands of Panay and Negros for Rufous-headed hornbill (critically endangered) and the Visayan hophilrnbill (endangered). The t-shirt features an illustration of the Rufous-headed hornbill by the late conservation scientist and artist William Oliver on the front, the back of the shirt has a neck tag illustration of the logo of the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation which features a Giant bushy-tailed cloud rat as part of their logo. The background color of the shirt is sand color and they are available in sizes from Small, Medium, Large, XL and XXL. They are priced at $20 each (plus shipping) with proceeds going to the Philippine Hornbills Conservation Program 2016 fieldwork activities.
