Scientific Name: Grus vipio

Found In: northern Mongolia, southern Siberia, Korea, Japan, and central China. Their habitat consists of grassy marshes, wet sedge meadows, and reedbeds in river valleys, as well as, boggy wetlands.

Size: stand 4 feet tall and weigh about 12 pounds.

Diet: Omnivore. Diet consists of tubers of aquatic plants, seeds, roots, insects, and small animals.

Threat Level: Vulnerable. Wetland loss and degradation are the major threats to this species
