During the month of August, Virginia Zoo members can visit their local YMCA in South Hampton Roads or the Virginia Peninsulas to activate a temporary YMCA membership and receive member pricing on eligible programs.

Zoo Members visiting the YMCA:

🏋️ Virginia Zoo Members must present their valid Virginia Zoo membership card, photo ID, then complete a guest waiver form upon visiting any YMCA of South Hampton Roads or YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas location to activate a temporary YMCA membership.

🏋️ Virginia Zoo Members who join the Y in August will pay no joining fee, a savings of up to $100..

🏋️ Once you’ve activated your Y membership, Virginia Zoo members can also take advantage of discounted member pricing on programs, including personal training, and register for fitness classes!

YMCA Members visiting the Zoo:

YMCA members should present one of the following options to Virginia Zoo staff for admission verification:

  1. Log-in to your YMCA mobile app or your YMCA membership account via the YMCA website and present proof of active membership along with a valid photo ID. 
  2. Present a completed Membership Verification Form (available through YMCA Member Services) along with a valid photo ID. 

🦁 YMCA Members enjoy free admission when they visit the Virginia Zoo during the month of August. This discount is not valid for special events, special member-access tickets, and education programs. 

🦁 YMCA Members receive a 10% discount in the gift shop and at food service locations.
