EdZOOcate Yourself
Join us this year for our two new education series: EdZOOcation and Animal Appreciation Days!
Learning is always an adventure at the Virginia Zoo! Join us for our EdZOOcation Days to explore animals and their habitats through hands-on activities, crafts, stories, Keeper Chats, and up-close encounters with our program animal ambassadors. Contribute directly to conservation efforts around the world and learn about what you can do every day to protect the species you love!
EdZOOcation Days Schedule:
- Party for the Planet – April 22
- World Migratory Bird Day – May 12
- World Giraffe Day – June 23
- International Tiger Day – July 28
- National Honeybee Day – August 18
- World Rhino Day – September 22
- Croctober – October 6
We’re also wild about our animals! Help us celebrate some of our favorite Zoo friends and their wild counterparts by joining us for Animal Appreciation Days! Explore all the things that make our animals unique, learn about their threats in the wild, and learn what the Zoo and our partners are doing to protect these species. While you’re here, symbolically adopt the animal through our Zoodoptions program. Your purchase will go directly towards the conservation of that species and you’ll be entered to win a Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes encounter with that animal for you and one guest.
Can’t make it out on the day of the event? No problem! Purchase a Zoodoption online during the contest period and you can still win big. See individual Animal Appreciation Days for details on how to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Some restrictions apply: see specific Animal Appreciation Days for individual contest details.
Don’t want to leave anything to chance? Schedule your own full Behind-the-Scenes experience HERE.
