Celebrate Earth Day and the animals that share our planet at the Virginia Zoo! Enjoy animal presentations on the ZooLive! stage, chat with Zoo staff while learning about eco-friendly enrichment for the animals and learn how you can support conservation here and abroad. With educational activities scheduled throughout the event, this year’s Party for the Planet will be a learning celebration for all ages.

Cost: FREE with regular paid Zoo admission

This year, the Zoo welcomes Brian Badger from the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). Brian’s aim is to enlighten people from around the world on the workings and goals of front line conservation. Hear his about his holistic approach to conservation in an exciting 30-minute presentation at the ZooLive! Stage at 11 am.

About Brian Badger:

After 3 decades in and around the conservation world and a passion that stretches back even further, Brian’s aim is to enlighten people from around the world on the workings, aims and goals of front line conservation.

Born and raised in London, UK, Brian has worked on, coordinated and been involved with projects throughout Africa, Bangladesh, the Russian Far East, The USA and Europe. His association with CCF stretches back 16 years including working at the international headquarters in Namibia as Operations Manager for 5 years.

With a specialty in holistic conservation, he is a passionate advocate of the practices that embrace the balance of the ecosystem with the collaboration and success of all stakeholders.
