Guests no longer need to make advance reservations or have a timed entry EXCEPT for ZooBoo and during Spring Break in which all Zoo visitors, including members will be required to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets purchased online will be valid for the date purchased only and can be used anytime starting at 9:30 am until 3 pm when the entry gates close. Gates close for Zoo Members only at 3:30 pm. The Zoo closes at 4 pm.
Advance reservations for everyone, including members, will be required April 1-16, 2023.
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS
Beginning Monday, October 24th, the Virginia Zoo “Asia: Trail of the Tiger” will experience a partial closure due to the replacement of the boardwalk surface and structure. Construction is expected to last through the spring of 2023.
During construction, general Zoo admission will be discounted to $11 (including the Conservation and Technology Fee) for all ticket levels.
This price accounts for both potential impacts on the guest experience due to construction, as well as a new seasonal discount the Zoo is piloting for our cooler winter months.

Advance reservations and timed ticketing for everyone, including Zoo members, may be used in during high traffic times or events like spring break, or the popular annual event, ZooBoo.

Please bring your valid Medicaid or qualifying insurance card with you upon arrival. If proof of discount qualification is not provided, you will be charged the cost to upgrade to a Full Price General Admission ticket.

Parking is free and designated bus parking is available.

REFUNDS / RAINCHECKS
Most of our facilities are outside. Due to weather conditions, some animals may not be visible or on exhibit. We do not offer refunds or rainchecks.
