Celebrate the anniversary of our Virginia Zoo Express train reopening! One year ago our brand new electric train opened to the public, marking a monumental moment for our guests and the Zoo’s conservation efforts by introducing an environmentally-friendly train.

Please note the Virginia Zoo Express is currently undergoing maintenance and will not be running during the celebration.

Activities

  • Virginia Zoo Express train rides will be Buy One Get One for $1 all day (to be redeemed at a later date).
  • Train whistle and bandana giveaway while supplies last.
  • Our Gift Shop Kiosk will have a variety of train themed merchandise available for purchase, including engineer hats, bandanas, wooden train whistles, bears in engineer costumes, and train toys.
