Roar & Pour

In partnership with Coastal Virginia Brewery Alliance, join us for this family-friendly event featuring unlimited beer samplings from the finest that Coastal Virginia has to offer, alongside extended exhibit hours, food trucks, live music, games, a kid’s play area, and much more. This event is rain or shine.

• 5 – 5:45pm: Ambassador Animals at the beginning of Asia: Trail of the Tiger
• 5 – 6pm: Musical entertainment from The Happy Dutchmen Oktoberfest Band at the Zoo Entrance
• 5 – 7pm: Silent Auction in the Event Pavilion
• 6 – 8pm: Musical entertainment from the Bobby Blackhat Band in the Event Field
• 7pm: Final Roar! Exhibit Trails & Goat Yard Closes
• 5 – 8:30pm Activities:
  • Cornhole and Beer Pong (with water) provided by CLUBWAKA
  • The Clubhouse Family-Friendly Activity in the Run Wild! Nature Discovery Zone

Limited number of tickets available. Advance ticket sales end when sold out (get yours early!). If tickets remain on the day of event, gate sales will be credit card only. Tickets are non-refundable. All sales are final. Should a ticket holder be unable to attend the event, the purchase will be considered a donation. As an outdoor venue, events are rain or shine unless otherwise indicated. If any changes are made, an announcement via an email to our members and/or ticket holders and on the Virginia Zoo social media channels will be issued prior the event.

The Zoo is a smoke-free facility; no smoking is allowed inside the Zoo. This also includes e-cigarettes and vaping. Inability to follow this rule will result in dismissal from Zoo grounds without a refund.
