The Virginia Zoo is excited to reintroduce our day camp programs! School’s Out Safari Camps are an exciting opportunity for students in grades 1-6 to dive into nature in a safe, hands-on, and age-appropriate setting. Campers of all abilities and learning styles can enjoy a fun, action-packed day off from school where they will encounter animals, express their creativity, and explore the entire Zoo.

All Safari Camp programs support Virginia Standards of Learning and Next Generation Science Standards. A summary of learning topics for each program is available upon request.

We have adapted our lessons and implemented strict safety and health protocols to bring these popular in-person programs back to the Zoo. Masks will be required for all participants and staff. Capacity is limited to just 15 campers per day, so reserve your spot right away!
