Membership Swap

The YMCA and the Virginia Zoo are swapping members during the month of October!

Zoo Members Visiting the Y:

• Zoo members must show their valid Virginia Zoo membership card, photo ID and complete a guest waiver form upon visiting any YMCA of South Hampton Roads or YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas location to activate a temporary Y membership.
• Members of the Virginia Zoo can visit any of the 34 YMCA locations across the region. For specific details about visiting those locations, visit www.ymcashr.org or www.ymcavp.org.
• Zoo members who join the Y in October will pay no joining fee, a savings of up to $100.
• Once you’ve activated your Y membership, Zoo members can also take advantage of discounted member pricing on all programs including personal training in the month of October, and register for fitness classes!

Y Members visiting the Zoo:

• Members of The YMCA will enjoy free admission when they visit the Virginia Zoo during the month of October. Not valid for special events and education programs, including ZooBoo on October 21 & 22.
• Advance reservations are not required. During your visit, please be ready to provide:
  • Personal identification and
  • A valid membership card (can use the bar code on the YMCA’s app) and
  • Email confirmation of membership OR completed membership verification form (available from YMCA member services)
• YMCA members will also have 10% discounts in the gift shop and food service locations.
• YMCA members who join the Virginia Zoo during the month of October can take advantage of two extra months – free – on a Virginia Zoo membership.
