Giving Zoosday

Giving Tuesday, also known as Giving ZOOsday, is today, November 28th and the Virginia Zoo is proud to be a part of this global celebration of giving. Every year we have two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but on #GivingTuesday, we have a day for giving back.

For 24 hours you can donate via our website OR Facebook page to help us put the finishing touches on the World of Reptiles, our state-of-the-art overhaul of the Virginia Zoo’s reptile building – opening Summer 2018. We’ll be live on Facebook during the day: giving a walk through tour of the renovated building, previewing new reptiles in our collection and more.

Donations save us from extinction! Help us reach our $1,000 goal and Facebook will match the contribution –that’s 200 people donating $5 each.

#GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “reason for the season.” Even if you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with family and friends and urge everyone you know to give back!
