Giving Zooday

Giving Tuesday, or Giving Zooday as we call it in the animal kingdom, is TODAY! This year, on Giving Tuesday the Virginia Zoo will be Caroling for Conservation. That’s right! Staff, volunteers and even our animals will be singing and dancing in order to raise $5,000 for conservation efforts on Zoo grounds and around the world.

The Virginia Zoo is proud to be a part of this global celebration of giving for the second year in a row. Every year holiday shoppers have two days for getting deals, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but #GivingZooday is a day for giving back, and this year we hope you choose to give to the Virginia Zoo.

#GivingZooday is the opening day of the giving season; a reminder of the “reason for the season.” With donations of all sizes from our gracious Zoo fans, we can help save dozens of species and their habitats at local, national and international levels. Plus, proceeds also benefit the Zoo’s educational programming, events, improvements and upgrades.

You can help! Watch the #CarolsForConservation video premiere on Facebook, on our website and make sure you’re subscribed to our emails to be the first to see our carol. The only wish the Zoo has this holiday season is your commitment to save species from extinction.

P.S. This year, Facebook will be matching all donations made to the Virginia Zoo from 8 am EST to 5 pm PST on November 27. Want to start your own fundraiser for us? Learn how here.
