This year, the Virginia Zoo and the Coastal Virginia Brewery Alliance are partnering to host an annual gathering of hyper-local brewers for an all-new event – Roar & Pour!

Join us for unlimited beer samplings from the finest that Coastal Virginia has to offer, alongside extended exhibit hours, a Food Truck Rodeo, live music, games, a kid’s play area, and much more.

DRINKING TICKETS

Drinking Adult ticket-holders will have access to unlimited samples from all 25+ breweries.

Please bring a valid photo ID to enter the event. IDs will be checked at the Front Gate.

NON-DRINKING TICKETS

Non-drinking tickets will have access to sampling from other craft beverage vendors like Crunchy Hydration and Maker’s Craft Brewery Non-Alcoholic Sodas.

Please note: Non-drinking adult tickets CANNOT be upgraded to drinking tickets the night of the event. Ticket holders will not have access to beer samplings, and full pours WILL NOT be available for sale.

All ticket levels will be able to enjoy the following:

  • Access to the Zoo — your chance to experience the animals with extended Zoo hours until 7:00 pm.
  • Live music from Bobby BlackHat & more.
  • Food available for purchase from local Food Trucks and the Zoo’s African Village Restaurant.
  • That warm & fuzzy feeling of knowing that you’re supporting the Zoo!

Event Schedule:

5:30pm to 6:15 pm — Animal Ambassadors in Fountain Plaza

5:45pm — Animal training demo at ZooLive! Stage

6pm to 7 pm — Bobby Blackhat Band in Event Field (first set)

6:30pm — Animal training demo at ZooLive! Stage

7:00pm — Final roar! All trails close

7:15pm — Silent auction closes

7:30pm to 8:30pm — Bobby Blackhat Band in Event Field (second set)

8:45pm — Final pour! Brewery booths close

**All ticket pricing includes a Conservation and Technology Fee.  

**Limited number of tickets available. Advance ticket sales end when sold out (they likely will – get yours early!). If available, gate sales are credit card only. Tickets are non-refundable. All sales are final. Should a ticket holder be unable to attend the event, the purchase will be considered a donation.

**Please note: This event takes place throughout the entire Zoo. Transportation throughout the park is not available at this event so wear your comfy shoes! A limited number of electric scooters and wheelchairs are available for rent from the Gift Shop for anyone with mobility limitations.
