Located in the heart of the Zoo at the entrance to the Okavango Delta, this cafe is a full service restaurant. Everything from pizza to salads, to hot dogs and hamburgers, this cafe offers a meal that is as spectacular as the view. Kids meals and family meal options are available. Indoor and outdoor seating gives you the place to relax and enjoy your Zoo visit.
Conveniently located near the front plaza and the Zoo Farm, The Beastro features delicious cafe-style treats such as beef or veggie sliders, flatbread pizzas, and healthy wraps and snacks. Flavor Burst soft-serve ice cream is available where you can design your own unique ice cream flavor sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. After your meal, be sure to head into the World of Reptiles of Friends to see more than 50 new exhibits.

Dippin’ Dots is the number one ice cream for fun and has been loved by kids of all ages for more than two decades. Dippin’ Dots are made from fresh dairy ingredients flavored with a variety of fun, fruity, enticing and even exotic flavors. Taste the fun at the Dippin Dots stand right across from the rhino statue, just before you head up into the hills of Africa.

Located at the front entrance, this grab and go stand offers all the basics needed for a day at the Zoo. Everything from bottled water to snacks this kiosk has you covered.

If you want to have a picnic lunch, consider visiting Lafayette Park, just outside the Virginia Zoo. Located at the intersection of Granby and 35th Streets, the park features picnic shelters and a new playground. If you leave the Zoo for your picnic, you may re-enter on the same day by showing you admission receipt at the ticket booth.
