zooperlative award

The Virginia Zoo is proud to bring back for its second year the Zooperlative Award. The Zooperlative Award is a new achievement prize for a Hampton Roads classroom or group of students for their outstanding contributions toward work that encompasses environmental impact, sustainability or conservation. One project from each category, grades 3-5 and grades 6-8, will be chosen by the Virginia Zoological Society’s Community Engagement Committee to receive the award. Awardees will be presented with a custom plaque and a hand-crafted Flip-Flop Animal created by Ocean Sole, tickets to the Virginia Zoo and a pizza party for the class.  Submissions are due no later than April 9th and can be completed online, by email or snail mail starting on January 6th. Winners will be announced on Social Media in May 2020.
