zooperlative award

Thank you for your interest in the Zooperlative Award! Unfortunately, due to recent circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus this year’s program has been canceled. Please continue to make positive impacts on the environment, create sustainable initiatives in your home and contribute to conservation efforts here and around the world.

The Zooperlative Award is an achievement prize for a Hampton Roads classroom or group of students for their outstanding contributions toward work that encompasses environmental impact, sustainability or conservation. One project from each category, grades 3-5 and grades 6-8, will be chosen by the Virginia Zoological Society’s Community Engagement Committee to receive the award. Awardees will be presented with a custom plaque and a hand-crafted Flip-Flop Animal created by Ocean Sole, tickets to the Virginia Zoo and a pizza party for the class. Please check back for submission dates in 2021.

Questions? Contact Rebecca Guest, Development Coordinator at the Virginia Zoo, at 757-441-2374, ext. 241 or rebecca.guest@norfolk.gov.
