Tell that not-so-special someone to bug off by naming a cockroach or rodent after them, which will be fed to one of the Zoo’s reptile or amphibians. On Valentine’s Day, the Zoo will be airing this feeding frenzy so be sure to tune in to see if your un-special someone is served up.
Cost: $10 per name. A certificate with your name of choice will be emailed to you to share on your social media channels.
Names will be accepted February 1-9, 2021 until 5 pm. Certificates will be emailed on February 14, 2021.

Enjoy a date-night in with the Virginia Zoo’s virtual“Kiss and Tail”. This unique Valentine’s Day program about jungle love separates the birds from the beasts! Join us for this adults-only opportunity and learn about animal mating, dating and reproductive habits in an honest & humorous forum. Hosted by the Virginia Zoo and TCC’s Lisa Behm. Behm is a former Zoo Keeper and animal registrar at the Virginia Zoo, where part of her duties included assisting the Zoo’s veterinarian. She began teaching evenings at TCC while working at the Zoo, becoming a full-time biology faculty member in 2003. This content is not suitable for children under the age of 18. Parent discretion is advised.
