Experience the amazing world of animals with seasonal safari camps at the Virginia Zoo! Spring Break Safari Camp is an exciting opportunity for students in grades 1-5 to dive into nature in a safe, hands-on, and age-appropriate setting. Campers of all abilities and learning styles can enjoy a fun, action-packed week where they will encounter animals up close, express their creativity, and explore the entire Zoo. With behind-the-scenes adventures and games galore, Safari Camp is a great way to discover the natural world.

Spring Break Safari is for students who are currently enrolled in 1st-5th grade in spring 2020.

Camp Tracks:

1-2 Grade – Stayin’ Alive

Whether you’re a badger or whether you’re an otter, you’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive! Explore the wacky world of animal adaptations and discover how unique creature features help animals survive in nature.

3-5 Grade – Science of YUCK

Spend the week investigating all things slimy, snotty, stinky, and shocking in the animal kingdom! In this gut-wrenching camp, we’ll dive into the nasty side of nature as we dissect owl pellets, identify poop, and explore disgusting animal diets. It’ll make your skin crawl!

Camps run from 9 am – 4 pm daily. Drop off starts at 8:45 am. Pick up ends at 4:15 pm. After Camp care is available until 5 pm. Campers not picked up by 4:15 pm will automatically be shifted into the After Camp program.


Full Week: $300/members & $350/non-members

optional After Camp Care Cost:

Full week: $75/members & $100/non-members.

Per day: $25/member & $30/non-member.
