One year ago our brand new electric train opened to the public\, marking a monumental moment for our guests and the Zoo’s conservation efforts by introducing an environmentally-friendly train. \n\n\n\n Please note the Virginia Zoo Express is currently undergoing maintenance and will not be running during the celebration. \n\n\n\nActivities\n\n\n\n\nVirginia Zoo Express train rides will be Buy One Get One for $1 all day (to be redeemed at a later date).\n\n\n\nTrain whistle and bandana giveaway while supplies last. \n\n\n\nOur Gift Shop Kiosk will have a variety of train themed merchandise available for purchase\, including engineer hats\, bandanas\, wooden train whistles\, bears in engineer costumes\, and train toys.
