SUMMARY:Train Rides with the Easter Bunny
DESCRIPTION:Climb aboard the Virginia Zoo Express and take a *photo with the Easter Bunny! Easter train rides will be offered on March 28 from 11am-2pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEaster Bunny Photos\n\n\n\n\nPhotos with the Easter Bunny are included with the purchase of a train ride. You MUST have purchased train tickets to get your photo with the Easter Bunny.\n\n\n\nPhotos are self-serve. Guests can take photos using their own devices. \n\n\n\nTrain rides cost $3 per person. Children under the age of 2 ride free.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEaster Egg Hunt\n\n\n\n\nThe Easter Egg Hunt will start at 12pm. \n\n\n\nGuests are strongly encouraged to sign up at the Beazley Train Station between 10:30am – 11:30am. Registration closes once capacity (150 children) is reached.\n\n\n\nEach child (ages 0-12) may collect up to 10 eggs. \n\n\n\nEggs include allergy-friendly candy options and small toys. Please ask staff for allergen information if needed. Staff can assist families with sorting candy and toys\, but we do not offer exchanges. \n\n\n\nGuests are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets or reusable bags; a limited number of baskets will be available. Reusable totes will also be available for purchase in the Gift Shop. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInclement Weather: For the safety\, the Virginia Zoo Express Train cannot operate in weather below 45 degrees Fahrenheit\, in the rain\, or during high winds. Should this be the case\, Easter Bunny photos will be moved to the Gift Shop. The Easter Egg Hunt will be canceled in the event of rain. However\, guests who take photos with the Easter Bunny will be handed a collection of eggs to take home with them. There will also be a grab & go craft available in the Gift Shop.

Trista has extensive experience with the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP)\, Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area (CBPA) requirements\, and mitigation projects\, including living shorelines\, rain gardens\, infiltration trenches\, and conservation landscaping. She is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist (VCH)\, a Designer (VSLD-certified)\, and a Level 2 Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional in design and installation (CBLP-ID). Trista contributed to creating and editing the “Native Plants for Southeast Virginia” guide and is an active advocate for sustainable practices in the region. She frequently speaks at events\, garden clubs\, and community groups\, sharing her passion for native plants and practical insights into sustainable landscaping.

Here’s what to know before making your plans to visit the Virginia Zoo!  \n\n\n\nThis year\, advanced reservation tickets will NOT be required\, however anyone that reserves their tickets online before arriving at the Zoo will receive $2 off admission.  \n\n\n\n**Individuals with a disability recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) qualify for free admission\, along with one companion. Individuals in this category do not need to reserve advanced tickets for spring break and can simply let the ticket booth know they’d like the ADA discount upon arrival. \n\n\n\n\nReserve tickets here!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnow Before You Go:\n\n\n\nFollow these tips to ensure the best experience possible when visiting the Zoo during spring break: \n\n\n\n🌸 Tickets reserved online before visiting will receive $2 off admission! Have tickets pulled up and ready to show before you reach the gate. \n\n\n\n🌸 The latest possible time to enter the Zoo will be 3pm and 3:30pm for members \n\n\n\n🌸 Plan for extra time at entry and amenities. You can help the process go faster by purchasing your tickets online ahead of time (they will be discounted too!) and having them ready to scan on your phone. \n\n\n\n🌸 We will have managed parking to assist our guests\, but we recommend carpooling when possible. \n\n\n\n🌸 Outside food and drinks are not allowed\, with the exception of reusable water bottles. Please enjoy a meal or a snack from our African Village Restaurant or Beastro\, where you can also refill your water bottle! \n\n\n\n🌸 Leave all pets at home\, unless they are a service animal (this does not include emotional support animals). \n\n\n\n🌸 Do not bring scooters\, bikes\, skateboards\, balls\, and or any flying objects. \n\n\n\n🌸 Smoking and vaping is not allowed on Zoo grounds. All eggs will have a Virginia Zoo prize pack but 2 eggs each day will have larger prizes. NEW! This year we’ll have prizes from partner organizations included in the large eggs. We will also be hiding 30 small golden eggs each day with a Virginia Zoo trading card prize!  \n\n\n\nSmall eggs will be hidden in the Zoo throughout the day\, expanding the time that people can find them. All the large eggs will be hidden before the Zoo opens for the day.  \n\n\n\nRules and Guidelines\n\n\n\n\nTen (10) large golden eggs will be hidden across the publicly accessible areas throughout the Zoo. \n\nTwo (2) of these eggs will have BIG prizes. The big prizes of the day are as follows:\n\nONE MOCA Household Membership with an Elation Brewing Sticker/Coupon\n\n\n\nONE 4-pack of Zoo tickets + 4 meal vouchers + 4 Virginia Zoo Express train rides\n\n\n\n\n\nEight (8) of the large eggs will contain Virginia Zoo Prize Packs which include a Virginia Zoo drawstring bag\, 2 Virginia Zoo sticker sheets (including our special edition 125th anniversary stickers)\, a Virginia Zoo pencil pouch with supplies\, a Virginia Zoo trading card\, and a Virginia Zoo trading card deck box. \n\n\n\n\n\nThirty (30) small golden eggs (also hidden  across the publicly accessible areas throughout the Zoo) will contain a Virginia Zoo trading card prize.\n\n\n\nOnce your family finds a golden egg\, go to the Membership Office to celebrate. Trista has extensive experience with the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP)\, Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area (CBPA) requirements\, and mitigation projects\, including living shorelines\, rain gardens\, infiltration trenches\, and conservation landscaping. She is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist (VCH)\, a Designer (VSLD-certified)\, and a Level 2 Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional in design and installation (CBLP-ID). Trista contributed to creating and editing the “Native Plants for Southeast Virginia” guide and is an active advocate for sustainable practices in the region. DESCRIPTION:Click here to see the full list of available prizes!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery Saturday and Sunday there will be 10 large golden eggs hidden throughout the Zoo. All eggs will have a Virginia Zoo prize pack but 2 eggs each day will have larger prizes. NEW! This year we’ll have prizes from partner organizations included in the large eggs. We will also be hiding 30 small golden eggs each day with a Virginia Zoo trading card prize! \n\n\n\nSmall eggs will be hidden in the Zoo throughout the day\, expanding the time that people can find them. All the large eggs will be hidden before the Zoo opens for the day. \n\n\n\nRules and Guidelines\n\n\n\n\nTen (10) golden eggs will be hidden across the publicly accessible areas throughout the Zoo. \n\nTwo (2) of these eggs will have BIG prizes. The big prizes of the day are as follows:\n\nONE Hermitage Household Plus Museum Membership\, 2 Sunset Tickets to the Hermitage Museum\, and Elation Brewing Sticker/Coupon\n\n\n\nONE Virginia Zoo Anniversary Zoodoption and 125th Anniversary Prize Pack\n\n\n\n\n\nEight (8) of the large eggs will contain Virginia Zoo Prize Packs which include a Virginia Zoo drawstring bag\, 2 Virginia Zoo sticker sheets (including our special edition 125th anniversary stickers)\, a Virginia Zoo pencil pouch with supplies\, a Virginia Zoo trading card\, and a Virginia Zoo trading card deck box.\n\n\n\n\n\nThirty (30) small golden eggs (also hidden across the publicly accessible areas throughout the Zoo) will contain a Virginia Zoo trading card prize.\n\n\n\nOnce your family finds a golden egg\, go to the Membership Office to celebrate. Please be sure to only redeem one golden egg per family.\n\n\n\nEggs are available on a first come first serve basis only. Starting at 9:30am. Check signage in the Fountain Plaza for status of egg hunt.\n\n\n\nGood luck and happy egg hunting!

DESCRIPTION:Make a positive impact in your local community by volunteering with the Virginia Zoo to keep our environment and city parks beautiful. Participating in one of these clean-ups will grant free entry to the Virginia Zoo on May 16\, 2026 for our Party for the Planet event.  \n\n\n\nHow: Sign up as an Episodic Volunteer through our Better Impact system.
