She is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist (VCH)\, a Designer (VSLD-certified)\, and a Level 2 Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional in design and installation (CBLP-ID). Trista contributed to creating and editing the “Native Plants for Southeast Virginia” guide and is an active advocate for sustainable practices in the region. DESCRIPTION:GIVE A GIFT TODAY!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs we enter the season of giving\, join the Virginia Zoo in supporting local cancer patients through our partnership with local nonprofit Paint Pink. 🎨🩷 \n\n\n\nPaint Pink was founded by Kim Keene\, the late partner of one of the Virginia Zoo’s Board of Directors dedicated members. “Paint Pink’s mission is to support local cancer patients with financial assistance for goods and services that are not covered by insurance\, thus enabling patients to focus on their battle with this disease.” \n\n\n\nTo honor Kim’s memory and to give back to a family who has given so much to the Zoo over the years\, on November 9th from 12pm-3pm we will be hosting a fundraiser with keychains featuring art created by our animals for a suggested donation of $5 each. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThose who give a gift of $10 or more will automatically be entered to win a one-of-a-kind 24”x 36” canvas painted by the Zoo’s four adult orangutans: Dara\, Solaris\, Pepper and Schnitz. (Winner will be notified by the Virginia Zoo on Tuesday\, November 12th\, post Veterans Day weekend). All proceeds will support the missions of both the Paint Pink and Virginia Zoo nonprofits. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccess to the fundraiser is included with paid General Zoo Admission or membership from 12pm-3pm on Saturday\, November 9th only. DESCRIPTION:Join the American Association of Zoo Keepers as they strike out extinction during their 10th annual Bowling for Rhinos event at Pinboys at the Beach! \n\n\n\nTidewater American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) organizes a bowling fundraiser every year to bring awareness and raise money for rhino conservation. Money is raised through ticket sales\, sponsorships\, raffles\, and silent auctions. \n\n\n\nThe Tidewater Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers is a local\, volunteer-based non-profit organization of animal care professionals from the Virginia Zoo\, the Virginia Aquarium\, Virginia Living Museum\, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
