Get your hands dirty and investigate the roots of this floral all about plants class. We’ll also learn first-hand how plants help the bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in your own backyard.
Zoo Tykes is designed for young learners (ages 2 to 6) and a caregiver or parent. This interactive program will focus on a different theme and includes an animal encounter, craft, story-time, and more. No more than one (1) adult per child. *Please note that Zoo Tykes is designed for one parent and children aged 2-6 only.

Time: 10:00 am to 10:45 am

Cost: $10 for members, $22 for nonmembers. $5 for additional children aged 2-6.

Cancellation Policy:
Zoo Tykes – Backyard Buds is held rain or shine. The Virginia Zoo reserves the right to cancel or change any program. Programs that have not met the minimum number of participants within the week of the program may be cancelled. In the event that we cancel your program, a full refund will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly. If you should wish to cancel your registration in this program, cancellation must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the program to receive a partial refund of 80%. No refunds will be given for programs cancelled less than 7 days before the scheduled date of the program.
