Here we GOAT again!
It’s that time of year for a Zoo fan favorite: the arrival of our beloved Nigerian dwarf goats! This year, 20 rowdy friends and their kids have come to the Virginia Zoo from Country Charm Farm in Halifax, Virginia. They arrived on April 15th and are currently completing a routine quarantine, but we already can’t goat enough of them. Did you know: a group of goats is called a trip. It comes from the Middle Dutch word ‘trippen’, which means to hop or skip. And if you have seen our goats before, you know they are always down for a hop, skip, jump, or romp!
Give Local 757 has always been a day about community, grassroots support, and pride. This year we are calling on our farm friends and ZooFans far and wide to help us provide the best possible summer home for our fuzzy trip. Your gift will help us offset the cost of their travel expenses, medical care, enrichment, and diet throughout their stay at the ZooFarm. But, that’s not all!
We’ve saved the best for last! Your generosity will help with the install and completion of the brand new goat playground that is being designed specifically for our hooved friends. Did we mention there’s a goat swing? We’re not KID-ding around! Don’t wait another second! Donate today then make a plan to visit the Virginia Zoo to play with the goats all summer long!
