SCIENCE OF THE ZOO – WORLD OF REPTILES

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the Zoo, or how zoos became such important places for wildlife conservation? On this tour, learn more about the history of the Virginia Zoo and how science helps us provide the best care for our animals.

Tours start at 2pm and meet inside the Zoo at the kugel ball (globe) in the Plaza. Tours last approximately 90 minutes. There is no age restriction; under 2 are free. All tours include park admission. You may enter the park at any time prior to your tour on the scheduled date. Space is limited (8 maximum).  Closed-toe shoes are required.

2pm Science of the Zoo tours typically take place in the World of Reptiles building. However, some areas may be closed or the tour route may be changed due to sensitive animal restrictions.
