In-Person Birthday Party

Your birthday boy or girl will have a wild time at a Zoo birthday party. We’ll handle all the details, just bring the birthday kid and cake! Parties are held year-round on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are required and are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

VIRTUAL BIRTHDAY PARTIES!

For just $100 you can have a Virtual Zoo Birthday Party!

  • A private Animal Ambassador encounter for you and up to 20 connected households
  • A PDF invitation that you can send out to your guests
  • 4 general admission Zoo tickets good for a future visit
  • Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask moderated questions about the animals, live from home

The format of this event will be a short introduction, followed by an approximately 10-minute presentation and conclude with an approximate 5-minute Q&A.

This event is suitable for guests of all ages. After registering with the Birthday Party Coordinator via e-mail, you will receive a unique link and password to view the event through the Zoom video platform before the party. Please be sure you and your guests access the link prior to the party to ensure a proper connection.

Micro Birthday Party Package

A Micro Birthday Party at the Virginia Zoo is perfect for the hostess looking for a small gathering with no stress. For $180* this package includes:

  • 90 minutes of party time in a designated party space
  • Zoo Birthday Party Host
  • Birthday button for the birthday child
  • Digital invitations
  • All-day admission for up to 15 people
  • Water, lemonade, paper products AND 2 pizzas (your choice of cheese or pepperoni)

No substitutions or changes can be made to this special offer. Any party exceeding 15 guests will be upgraded to a normal Basic party package of $275 plus food costs, taxes and service fees.

Please note: For the safety of our animals, balloons, balls, straws, confetti, any inflatables and piñatas are not allowed on Zoo Grounds at any time. Small toys or items that could be considered a choking hazard for a child are also considered a choking hazard for our animals, and staff recommends to keeping those items in your car during your visit to the Zoo.
