The Zoo To Do is a celebration of the Virginia Zoo. Heralded as a unique creative cocktail event, this legendary, evening will not disappoint. Party-goers will dance, feast, sip and take in magnificent surroundings, all while celebrating the Zoo’s uproarious history. Don’t miss this opportunity to leave your mark.
In 1892, the City of Norfolk purchased the 65 acres that were currently occupied by Lafayette Park. In 1900, the park began acquiring animals to exhibit, and by 1901 its collection exceeded 200 animals, including mammals, birds and reptiles. Since then, the Virginia Zoo has been a pillar of education and recreation in the Hampton Roads Community. The Virginia Zoo and our community partners will celebrate the magnitude of 115 years throughout 2016.
