From the plains of Africa to the jungles of Asia, the Virginia Zoo is a world of discovery. Open year round, the Zoo offers fun, education and excitement for everyone.
Meet and greet tigers, kangaroos, red pandas, giraffes and more. Take a ride on the Zoo train or stroll through our gorgeous gardens. It’s an adventure for the whole family!
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. We welcome service animals, per the ADA guidelines. No outside pets allowed.
Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm (except on major winter holidays).
Please note: The Reptile Building is closed for renovations. “World of Reptiles” opens Summer 2018 with more than 60 exhibits including crocodiles, a frog lab, reptile nursery, venomous snake gallery, a conservation classroom, a family restroom and other improved visitor amenities.
