Director Greg Bockheim Makes Debut as Local Artist Bockheim's art is displayed as part of “Connections” Exhibit at d'ART Center Who:
Greg Bockheim, executive
director of the Virginia Zoo, has created an original work of art
in partnership with local artist Lynette Crain.
What: Bockheim is one of six community leaders participating in a unique collaboration with d'ART Center artists. Each team collaborated to develop the concept and to create original art that connects each partner's styles and interests. Bockheim's masterpiece features one of his passions – exotic birds. His partner, Lynette Crain, primarily works in watercolors, oils and pastels. The program, called “ Painting with the Stars ,” is a special feature of d'ART Center 's summer art exhibit “ Connections .” When: An opening reception will be held Friday, July 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit will be held July 11 through August 31.
