The Basics
For your event to be the success it deserves to be, you need to book at least 4 weeks in advance. Booking early helps ensure you get the venue you want.
Rentals are rain or shine – no refunds, admission passes or alternate dates are provided for weather or cancellations by customer.
Amusements can be rented from the Zoo’s preferred vendor – Big Top Entertainment.
For the protection of our animal residents, balloons, balls, straws and confetti are prohibited.

Pricing
Outdoor Venues:
Large Event Tent (Admission for 500 guests)
- Monday – Friday: $500 for three hours
- Additional Time : $100 per hour
- Saturday – Sunday: $2,000 for the day
Event Field (add on to Large Event Tent)
Goode Train Station (Admission for 50 guests)
- Sunday-Saturday: $200 for three hours
- Additional Time: $50 per hour
Africa Boardwalk (Admission for 50 guests -- after hours only)
- Monday – Friday: $500 for three hours
- Additional Time: $100 per hour
- Saturday – Sunday: $2,000
Flora Point (Admission for 50 guests)
- Sunday – Saturday: $200 for one hour
- Additional time: $100 per hour
Compass Rose Plaza (Admission for 50 guests)
- Sunday – Saturday: $300 for one hour
- Additional time: $100 per hour
Entire Zoo Rental (Admission for 500 guests-- call for details)
Indoor Venues:
Education Classroom (Admission for 50 guests)
- Sunday – Saturday: $350 for three hours
- Additional Time: $50 per hour
Africa Interpretive Center (Admission for 45 guests)
- Sunday – Saturday: $200 for three hours
- Additional Time: $50 per hour
Education Center (Admission for 75 guests)
- Sunday - Saturday: $200 for thee hours
- Additional Time: $50 per hour
African Village Restaurant (Admission for 48 guests)
- Sunday - Saturday: $350 for two hours
- Additional Time: $75 per hour
Visitor Center Large Conference Room (Admission for 20 guests)
- Sunday - Saturday: $200 for two hours
- Additional Time: $25 hours
Visitor Center Small Conference Room (Admission for 7 guests)
- Sunday - Saturday: $75 for two hours
- Additional Time: $25 per hour
Extras:
In addition to rental fees for specific venues, the following event fees may also apply:

- Norfolk Police Department (Required for all functions serving alcohol) ............ $30/hour/minimum 4 hours
- Clean-up/disposal ............................................................. $150-$200 depending on venue and group size
- Zoo admission for extra guests .................................................................................................. $2.00 each
- Table rental ..................................................................................................................................... $6 each
- Chair rental ................................................................................................................................. $0.75 each
- Setup/break down fees ........................................................................................ 20% of table/chair rental
- Animal encounter fees quoted separately
An addition $250 fee will be charged to any group that does not properly dispose of trash at the venue.
