Train Seats, Bricks and Benches

Zoo Bricks

Another great way to support the Zoo is by purchasing a personalized Zoo Brick. These bricks are a great way to recognize children, grandchildren, marriages, and other special events, or a lasting memorial to a loved one. They’re also unique gifts, and perfect for any occasion. These bricks will be part of the Zoo for generations to come.

With each $100 contribution, your name or the name of a special friend, family member, or beloved pet, will be engraved on a 4″ x 8″ brick. A 4″ x 8″ brick will accommodate a maximum of 16 characters per line and up to three lines of text.

Those who wish to make a more significant contribution to the Zoo may purchase a $250 brick. For this generous donation, an 8″ x 8″ brick will be engraved with your inscription and prominently displayed. An 8″ x 8″ brick will accommodate a maximum of 16 characters per line and up to six lines of text.

Your brick donation is tax-deductible. Brick inscriptions are subject to approval by the Virginia Zoo.

To order your Zoo Brick, call (757) 441-2374, ext.  244 or click here for online form.

Zoo Memorial Benches

For a contribution of $1,500, a memorial bench can be placed throughout the grounds of the Virginia Zoo. For a contribution of $2,500, a memorial bench can be placed in one of the Virginia Zoo’s two train stations. Memorial benches include a brass plaque that can be customized according to the donor’s instructions.

Zoo staff typically determines the location of the bench, but every effort is made to accommodate any special requests or preferences.
