Donation, Matching Gifts & Estates
Make A Gift
Your gift can enrich both the lives of our animals here at the Zoo and their species around the world, as well as inspire conservation action and have a lasting impact on the thousands of families and school children that visit annually. There are a number of ways to make a gift to the Virginia Zoo.
Gifts of Cash
Making a donation of cash is as simple as writing a check or authorizing a charge on your credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
You may even be able to make your generosity go further by asking your employer to match your gift to the Virginia Zoo. Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees or employee’s spouses. Contact your employer to find out if your company will match gifts to the Virginia Zoo
Gifts of Securities
Stock that has increased in value is one of the most popular assets used for charitable giving, once it has been held for a minimum of a year. Making a gift of securities to us offers you the chance to help our organization while realizing many important benefits for yourself.
Include the Zoo in Your Estate
By naming the Virginia Zoo in your estate plan, you have the opportunity to participate in the future of the Virginia Zoo and create a legacy that will ensure the fulfillment of our mission. Your planned gift can help to ensure a stable financial future for your Zoo.
Memorial & Tribute Gifts
Commemorate an important milestone; honor a loved one or celebration anniversaries or holidays with a gift to the Virginia Zoo.
By giving an in-kind gift to the Virginia Zoo, you can be recognized as a Zoo donor, qualify for a charitable deduction, and provide needed supplies and materials to the Zoo’s many programs. Your assistance will contribute to the Zoo’s mission while providing significant budget relief. Items should be new or in good condition.
