Farm Friends is designed for young learners (ages 2 to 4) and their caregivers or parents. Each week, this interactive learning hour will focus on a different farm animal and includes a craft, story time, an animal encounter and an unforgettable educational experience.
Ever wonder what happens at the zoo after dark and the lights go out? Come join us for a nocturnal adventure without the sleepover! Together we’ll learn about the fascinating world of animals through games and activities, meet education animals up close and even hike around the zoo at night. Participants must be 6 years and older and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Your birthday boy or girl will have a wild time at a Zoo birthday party. All birthday parties include a visit from an animal ambassador and activities geared towards the age of the birthday child. (Specific animal ambassadors cannot be guaranteed.) Parties are held year round on Saturdays and Sundays and are offered at seven different times throughout the day. Reservations are required and are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Experience the Virginia Zoo from dusk until dawn by joining us after-hours for this unique adventure! It’s the ultimate sleepover for families, friends and groups. Zoo Snoozes include educational and exciting nighttime activities, up-close encounters with our animal ambassadors, themed night hikes, a behind-the-scenes experience, evening and morning meals and so much more. Wake up to the sounds of lions roaring or siamangs calling!
Planning a night out and need to find a babysitter? Look no more! The Virginia Zoo will handle childcare for you. Kids aged 4-12 will enjoy a fun-filled and educational time at the Zoo. During this evening, we will learn all about the animals that are out and about at night through games, activities, a hike around the Zoo and a light pizza dinner.
